Student Recitals are held twice per year, once in June and another in November.
The June recital is a themed recital, focusing on music, fun and food. We come together for an afternoon of year long memories and for students going off to college. It is always hugs, tears and bittersweet farewells. Some of the pictures on this page are from past themed recitals.
Past themes have included:
The November recital is our annual community fund raising recital. We pick a local non-profit orginization to help support and do a silent auction, and raffle fund raiser directly after the recital. We always have a big pot luck style dinner and then the auction begins. It is very festive, and a great way for Cecelia's students to give to their community through their music.
Here is a list of some of the orginizations we have raised money for over the years:
We are so pleased to have the help and support of Michael Senturia (former conductor of the U.C. Berkeley Symphony) who writes original ensemble pieces for us to perform at each recital. When his busy schedule allows, he will conduct the performances of his work, himself.
We thank you Michael!
